"I have had the pleasure of working with David on multiple projects, but one stands out in particular: the transformation of our palletizing system for 1 kg sugar sacks. David took on the challenge of improving the performance of our stacking installation, which had been causing headaches due to sacks arriving at the palletizer in a ballooned shape after a long journey from the production machine. This was a persistent issue that affected our ability to stack the sacks efficiently, leading to a significant drop in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Rather than focusing on adapting the palletizer, David took an innovative approach. He designed and implemented a vibrating transport belt with two adjustable side belts and a top plate that reshaped these ballooned sacks into perfectly stackable brick shapes. It was a brilliant solution that not only solved the problem but also avoided the need for expensive modifications to the palletizer itself. Thanks to his innovation, we saw our OEE skyrocket from 60% to an impressive 95%.
